It’s a Christmas miracle, dearest gentle readers. Now that we’ve all calmed down from the scintillating news that Bridgerton will premiere its ultra-sexy third season in two parts — part one on May 16, 2024, and part two on June 13 — Shondaland and Netflix thought it only fair to make sure that Santa dropped off some very exciting presents to help us enter 2024 with a bang: brand-new, first-look images from season three!
But first up, let’s relish in our new diamond of the season, Nicola Coughlan as Penelope Featherington (aka Lady Whistledown) in Bridgerton’s debut teaser poster for season three:
The third season of Bridgerton — a series that surpassed its own viewing records for season two and was one of the most-viewed titles on Netflix — will give fans of the show and Julia Quinn’s original book series alike what they’ve been waiting for … #Polin! Is a romance at last blooming between Penelope and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton)? And what about our newlyweds, Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) and his viscountess, Kate (Simone Ashley)? Is married life as a Bridgerton all it’s cracked up to be? Elsewhere, trouble is still afoot with Eloise (Claudia Jessie) and Pen as they try to navigate a rift that seems ever widening. Indeed, season three will see the ton rife with drama and intrigue.
To tide us over until we can find out more about the Bridgertons, the Featheringtons, and the rest of Regency London, below are five stunning new photos from Bridgerton season three, along with tidbits from the cast about what might be in store for their characters come May.
“This is my third year on the show, and I knew the workload was going to be crazy,” Nicola Coughlan tells Shondaland. “But I think you do sort of sometimes feel the weight of it. You go, ‘Oh, man, this show is huge.’ It’s got a huge fandom behind it, and you do feel a bit like the captain of the ship, and you want to lead it as best you can. It was all-consuming in a way it’s never been before.”
“After the success of season two, we were all really excited to get back to work,” adds Luke Newton. “I know there are people who have supported the Polin relationship since day one. So, I’m excited for them to finally get what they’ve been waiting for.”
